Mankato, Minnesota—Wrapping up a seven game home stand, the Mankato MoonDogs took on the La Crosse Loggers at Franklin Rogers Park, and were defeated by a score of 3-2.

The La Crosse pitching staff would keep the MoonDogs bats at bay for most of the night, allowing Mankato to get just four hits all night.

The MoonDogs staff was fairly effective themselves, allowing just three runs on eight hits, but it was not enough to bring down the Loggers tonight.

Starter Dalton Lehnen gave Mankato five innings on the bump, allowing just one run while striking out five.

Lehnen would be relieved by Kenny Varnell who would go 1.2 innings, striking out four but allowed the final two Logger runs in the sixth, receiving the loss.

Mankato had a prime opportunity to at least tie the game in the seventh, when Jordan Washam led things off with a triple.

He would be out at the plate on fielders choice, leaving Drew Fearing to score the lone MoonDog run of that inning when he was driven in by Eric Peterson.

Alvaro Rubalcaba would score the only other MoonDog run, coming in the third, and it was Jake Shepski who would drive Rubalcaba in.

Tomorrow the MoonDogs will travel to St. Cloud to take on the Rox in a battle of the first and second place teams in the North Division.
