MANKATO- Minn. The Mankato MoonDogs, a member of the Northwoods League are excited to announce the signings of Ryan Kreidler and Kyle Cuellar for the 2017 season. Both Kreidler and Cuellar are freshmen at UCLA this spring and will be helpful additions to the MoonDogs infield.

Ryan Kreidler (Cr-eyed-ler), a 6'2", 195 lb. infielder was ranked by Perfect Game USA as the No. 23 Top High School Prospect in California coming into his freshman year at UCLA. He has started all 19 games he has appeared in so far for the Bruins and holds a .255 AVG in 55 at bats with 14 hits, 10 runs scored, 2 doubles, 8 RBI, and 1 HR. He has also been walked 8 times and is 2 of 2 on stolen base attempts. In the field, Kreidler has made 3 errors, earning a .940 fielding percentage. Kreidler lists former Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter, and current Mariner infielder Robinson Cano as baseball players he admires.

Kyle Cuellar (Quay-Yar) is a 6'0", 182 lb. infielder and a native of Arcadia, California. Like Kreidler, Cuellar has been a frequent starter in the UCLA lineup as a freshman. He has appeared in 18 games (13 starts) and has a .429 AVG at the plate. In 49 at bats, he has 21 hits, 6 runs, 5 doubles, 15 RBI, 9 BB, and 1 HR. Cuellar's batting average and on-base percentage (.508) are both good for second on the UCLA team. His ability to get on base and swing for power have put him in the cleanup role in coach Savage’s lineup, playing as the team's designated hitter in most games. Outside of baseball, Cuellar lists traveling and cooking as his hobbies. He plans to major in Business Economics at UCLA.

Ryan Kreidler and Kyle Cuellar join Jake Ortega (CSUB), Tanner James (Texas A&M), and CJ Schaeffer (W. Illinois) as infielders on the MoonDogs summer roster. Last season, pitcher Brian Gadsby also joined the MoonDogs from UCLA. The MoonDogs home opener is scheduled for May 31st at 7:05pm at Franklin Rogers Park.
