BISMARCK- N.D. The Mankato MoonDogs fell to the Bismarck Larks 10-0 on Friday night and the Larks scored all ten runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, sending 15 to the plate. It began as a pitchers duel for both teams. Ricky Digrugilliers (MSU) pitched seven scoreless innings for Mankato and allowed 2 hits, walked one, and struck out 7 while Carson Celine pitched 7 innings and allowed just three hits on three walks and three strikeouts for Bismarck.

Then the nightmare eighth inning for Mankato started when Jeff Mays led off with a base hit on relief pitcher Andy Fisher (Illinois). Scooter Bynum Singled and Ryan Anderson broke the scoreless tie with a base hit up the middle of the infield. Then the runs kept coming for Bismarck. MoonDogs shortstop Ryan Kreidler was charged with back to back errors on ground balls hit in his direction. The Larks ended up with 10 runs on 7 hits, 3 errors, and two left on base. It was the most runs the MoonDogs have allowed in a single inning through 71 games this summer.

The loss snapped Mankato's five game win streak and dropped their second half north division record to 22-12 (42-28 overall). The Larks improved to 13-21 (29-40). The MoonDogs will be back in action tomorrow night at Mayo Field in Rochester. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm and the game will be broadcaster on AM1230 the Fan Mankato.
