Mankato, Minn – Adam Lukas shut down the Bucks lineup tonight as he pitched 6.1 innings, struck out nine, and only surrendered one run. The MoonDog’s bats woke up in the seventh inning with a pair of home runs from Kyle MacDonald (Arkansas State) and Zac Wiley (Bellarmine).

Waterloo started on the offensive in the fourth inning when Brendan Hueth (St. Joseph’s) hit a double to left field. Bucks center fielder, Drue Galassi (W. Illinois) drove in Hueth on a double of his own to right field.

Mankato responded in the bottom of the fourth with a pair of two out hits from Max Wright (Indiana State) and Kenton Crews (Evansville) to put the MoonDogs up 2-1.

The Dogs took advantage of a two walks and a hit by pitch, by scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth. They scored three additional run in the seventh inning on MacDonald and Wiley’s home runs.

Adam Lukas now moves to 3-0 on the season, with 26 strikeouts, and a 0.51 ERA.

The MoonDogs will play their second game of the four game series against Waterloo at 7:05 today at The Frank.
