MANKATO, MN – The ‘Dogs are elated to welcome three pitchers back to the team for the 2022 Season! All three of them were in the top six for innings pitched last year. These aces are Jarret Krzyzanowski, John Lundgren, Owen Boerema
Jarret Krzyzanowski – Nova Southeastern University
The Dogs are welcoming back a stellar starting pitch in Jarret. The Vista Park Texas native is no stranger to Mankato, Pitching for the MoonDogs in both previous summers. Krzyzanowski’s previous season was impressive to say the least.. Stuffing the stat sheet with a 2-0 record with a 1.83 ERA in 39.1 innings pitched. He put the K in Krzyzanowski last summer with 36 strikeouts. He is currently having a solid season with a .69 ERA coming out of the pen for the Nova Southeastern Sharks. Mankato is excited to have Jarrett back.
Owen Boerema- Northwestern- St. Paul
The Instate product returns for his second season of action with the MoonDogs. The 6’5 lefty from Northwestern-St.Paul has been having a solid season for his college team so far, with 10 strikeouts in 9 innings. He also had a noteworthy season on the basketball court as well. Boerma was a starter for a team that made the NCAA basketball tournament this year. Last year for the dogs he had a 4-3 record while being one of the top inning eaters for Mankato. The organization can’t wait to see the Litchfield native on the hill this season!
John Lundgren- University of North Alabama
Another returner who has multiple years of experience in the Northwoods League. John’s first Northwoods experience was with the Rivets before playing with the MoonDogs last summer. John for the ‘Dogs had a 2-4 record with a 4.93 ERA and one save. He also had 32 strikeouts in 45 innings of work. He Primarily operated out of the Pen for the Dogs last season, but was willing to do whatever was needed starting 4 games as well. Lundgren is currently at North Alabama, and has 11 strikeouts in 11 innings for the Lions. The dogs can’t wait to see Johns switch from Purple to Orange!
The 21st season of MoonDogs baseball begins with the Duluth Huskies coming to Mankato on May 30th at ISG Field.
