Mankato, Minn
– The MoonDogs can’t wait to announce these three position players as additions to the roster. We welcome Duncan Pastore, John Newman, and Nick Oakley to the squad! All bringing their very successful careers to Mankato!

Duncan Pastore-Nova Southeastern

The MoonDogs welcome another shark to the team in Duncan Pastore! The Tampa product can do it all as he can pitch and hit. For Nova Southeastern this year, he’s batting.366 with 4 bombs and 48  “ribees” in 24 games this year. He has not pitched this year for the Sharks but in years past has been dominant, putting up a 2.51 ERA as a freshman. This is Duncan’s first season in the Northwoods league after playing in the Valley Baseball league previously. The dogs can’t wait to see what Duncan can do in the Northwoods!

John Newman-UCSB

Another newbie to the MoonDogs is John Newman. John is a catcher from the University of Santa Barbara. Newman is a backstop with a big bat. He’s hitting .352 with 11 RBIs this year for the Gauchos this season. With those stats, you’d think he was an upperclassmen; he’s only a freshman, though. The California native is also in his first season in the Northwoods. He participated in the West Coast League last summer! Mankato can’t wait to see his bat and glove on the ISG Field!

Nick Oakley-UCSB

Coming from the same team and even in the same class! You’re not seeing double Nick Oakley is also a fellow first time MoonDog. His junior year in high school, he stole 21 bases! This kid is like Jimmy John’s freaky fast! For the Gauchos, Oakley is an infielder with a nice bat and speed on the bases. This season for Santa Barba, he’s been playing well. Appearing in 29 games and hitting three doubles.  The communication major also has noble aspirations of wanting to be a fireman when he graduates.  His speed on the bases and bat could be lethal for the ‘dogs this year, Along with his great club house presence !

The 21st season of MoonDogs baseball is only 45 days away at ISG Field!
