MANKATO, MINN. – The MoonDogs hosted the Rochester Honkers for the second straight night at ISG Field.

After two scoreless innings of play, Rochester struck first. A two run homerun effort sent them ahead 2-0 in the top of the third.

The MoonDogs rallied in the same inning, scoring first off of an RBI double by Kyle Hvidsten (Liberty University). A sacrifice fly from Caleb Barnett (University of Alabama) tied up the game 2-2 at the conclusion of the third. 

Evan Saunders (Wichita State University) put the MoonDogs ahead in the fourth, hitting a solo home run to make it a 3-2 game. 

After a scoreless fifth inning, the Honkers scored on a wild pitch in the sixth. Mankato also scored off of a ground out play, overtaking the lead 4-3. 

The MoonDogs added another run in the seventh, scoring off of an error by the Honkers.

Saunders added an RBI double to score another run for the Dogs. This increased their lead to 6-3. 

This would be the final score of the game. 

The MoonDogs will travel to St. Cloud for tomorrow’s game. The first pitch at Municipal Athletic Field will be thrown at 6:35 p.m.
