After raining ‘Cats and ‘Dogs the last few days that cancelled Friday night’s contest, the Border Cats and MoonDogs would do battle in a doubleheader (Two 7 inning games) Saturday evening at Franklin Rogers Park. Thunder Bay would take Game 1 by a score of 3-1.

Both starting pitchers, Warren Rosebrock (Sacramento St.) and Aaron Rodriquez would throw pitch-for-pitch the first 4 innings before Thunder Bay would put up a run in the 5th. The very next inning with Cole DeVries (Minnesota) coming in relief for Rosebrock, the Border Cats would get 2 more runs and take a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the 7th inning.

The MoonDogs would push across 1 run in the final stanza with an RBI by Barrett Rice (Kansas St).

Warren Rosebrock would be the tough-luck loser in Game 1 allowing just a single run in 5 innings of work. Matt McColgan (Santa Clara) and Grant Rembert (Elon) would both go 2-3 with each hitting a double on the night in the losing effort in Game 1.
