(6/29/05) The MoonDogs lit up the scoreboard to a tune of 17 hits to overpower the Waterloo Bucks in a 12-7 win on Wednesday night. Brandon Thomson retired the first nine batters he faced to earn his second win as the MoonDogs extend their road game winning streak to four in a row.

The slugfest began with the MoonDogs putting seven runs up in the first four innings. The Bucks tried crawling back, scoring one run in the fourth and two in the fifth inning, but the MoonDogs sent 10 batters up in the sixth to plate five more runs and extend the lead to 12-3. Waterloo rallied in the bottom of the sixth to score four runs, but reliever Matt Mossey shot down any hopes of a comeback with his performance on the mound as the ‘Dogs went on to win 12-7.

Shane Buschini had yet another big night at the plate, going 3-6 with three RBI a pair of runs and a double. Aaron Grant also came through with runners on base, driving in three runs in the game. Bobby Verbick was a run producing machine as he got on base four times including a double to score three tallies. Travis Howell and Robert Rodebaugh both had three hits in five at bats on the night

Thomson worked in five innings allowing three runs while striking out three. Mossey lowered his ERA to 2.35 while earning his first save. He worked 3.1 scoreless innings and allowed just one hit.
