(St. Cloud, MN) – The MoonDogs dropped another tight game Tuesday night in St. Cloud. The River Bats (9-4) used an impressive pitching performance from starter Steve Blevins (1-0) and timely hitting and base running to beat the MoonDogs (4-8) 4-0, spoiling an equally efficient start by MoonDog starter Jordan Tiegs (0-2), who went 6 1/3 innings and gave up just one earned run on five hits.

MoonDog shortstop Bobby Munoz continued to rip St. Cloud pitching. After last night’s 4-for-5 performance, Munoz went 2-for-2 with another double. Outfielder CJ Belanger and second baseman James Keithley recorded the other two hits for the MoonDogs. In addition to Tiegs quality start, Josh Castanza made a relief appearance, going 1 2/3 innings and giving up one run on two hits.

For the River Bats, first baseman Matt Fanelli was 2-for-4 with both of St. Cloud’s RBI. Outfielder DJ Belfonte was 1-for-2 and scored twice. First baseman Adam Kampsen also recorded two hits and the River Bats stole five bases, including steals from outfielder David Brumagin and catcher Dylan Tonneson, who each scored once.

River Bats starter Steve Blevins went five innings, giving up just one hit, no runs, and striking out three. Closer Ryan Wrobel (4) went two innings, giving up no runs on three hits to get the save.
