(Mankato, MN) – Right fielder Alan Oaks hit his second home run of the year and starter Brendan Lafferty (3-3) gave up just one run as the MoonDogs (12-11, 29-28) completed the sweep over the La Crosse Loggers (6-18, 23-34) with a 2-1 victory Thursday night in La Crosse. Lafferty ended up going 7 1/3 innings, giving up just one run on four hits while striking out six.
Oaks finished the game 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Catcher Ben Geelan was 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Third baseman Nate Hanson went 1-for-2 with his thirteenth double of the year to increase his season batting average to a league-leading .370.
Lafferty’s start gave him his third win of the season and lowered his season-long ERA to 2.36. After 7 1/3 innings, Lafferty was relieved by newcomer Ted Farni, who finished off the eighth inning without allowing a baserunner. Closer Chad Dawson closed it out in the ninth to record his fourth save in as many days. Dawson extended his single-season MoonDogs team record in saves to sixteen, and is now just one short of the MoonDogs career saves record.

Logger starter Evan Buhr went six innings, giving up a single run on just three hits. Reliever Arron Olson (0-3) pitched the final three innings and took the loss for La Crosse.
