Mankato, Minn. – The Mankato MoonDogs (7-11, 22-30) beat the Duluth Huskies (9-8, 26-22) twice Wednesday at Wade Stadium 4 to 1 and 4 to 3.

Pitcher Logan Odom (USC) got the first win in the double header. He went the full seven inninngs, allowed one run on five hits and struck out seven Huskies. All of the scoring happened in the third inning when Danny Miller (Minn. State) hit a two run double to put the MoonDogs up 3 to 0. Duluth scored their single run in the bottom of the third and were held scoreless the rest of the game.

In the second game Huskies took the lead in the fifth inning by scoring a two runs. The MoonDogs were able to come back quick with three runs in the sixth and an insurance run in the seventh. Pitcher Alex Blackford (Arizona State) got the win. He went six innings, allowed two runs on four hits and struck out 11. Zach Calhoon (Texas – San Antonio) picked up the save, he allowed one run on one hit. Designated hitter Robbie Robinson (Valparaiso) went two for three on the day and right fielder Robby Ort also went two for three with run scored.

The MoonDogs will be on the road tomorrow at Rochester and then will return home for a three game home stand. It will be Star Wars Night on Saturday presented by KXLP, so come out and enjoy a ball game with your favorite Star Wars characters!
