(St. Cloud, MN) – The MoonDogs (4-9, 19-28) lost 6-2 to the St. Cloud River Bats (8-5, 28-20) on Saturday night at Joe Faber Field.

River Bat Jason Wheeler (6-0, Loyola Marymount) remained undefeated as he turned in another stellar performance against the MoonDogs. In seven and two third innings he gave up two runs on five hits and striking out eight.

The River Bats’ offensive damage was done in the first two innings. After Wheeler allowed a run in the top half of the first inning, St. Cloud responded with two of their own in the bottom half. They would follow that up with four more in the second.

It was a rough outing for MoonDog starter Sam Selman (2-1, Vanderbilt) as he took his first loss of the season. His night came to an end after the four run second inning by the River Bats.

Tim Fangman (Blackhawk JC) threw four scoreless innings of long relief before Logan Frame (St. Ambrose) and Zach Calhoon (University of Texas-San Antonio) each came on to work a scoreless inning as well.
