Willmar, Minn- The Mankato MoonDogs wrapped up their three game series against the Willmar Stingers with an 8-2 victory Tuesday night at Bill Taunton Stadium.

Entering Tuesday’s game, Mankato starting pitcher Zach Hall (Parkland) had allowed just 2 earned runs over 19.1 innings, while posting a team best 0.93ERA. Hall (3-0) was dominant much of the night, holding the Stingers to just 2 runs on 4 hits (both unearned) over 7 innings, lowering his earned run average to an astounding 0.68.

Relief pitcher, Trevor Belicek (Texas A&M Corpus) allowed no runs on three hits, striking out three Stingers batters over the final two innings. The southpaw has been impressive out of the Mankato bullpen, walking just three batters while posting a 1.15ERA over 15.2 innings.

Nick Ratajczak (Louisville) led the MoonDogs offensively, going 3-for-4 at the plate, with an RBI and four runs scored. Ratajczak has been on an absolute tare over the last 10 games, batting .390 with 9 runs scored. The MoonDogs leadoff man is now batting .379 overall this season with just seven strikeouts in 66 at bats.

With the win Tuesday night, Mankato heads into their first off-day with a 21-7 record and a 2.5 game lead over the Waterloo Bucks in the North Division standings.

The MoonDogs will be back in action Thursday night in Waterloo. First pitch is schedule for 6:35pm and can be heard on AM 1230 "The Fan" or online at mankatomoondogs.com.
