Border Cats Announce new Manager for 2014

The 33-year old native of Brooklyn, NY., is currently an assistant coach at Long Island University-Brooklyn. Hernandez was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 15th round of the 1998 Major League Baseball Draft and played professionally in the Cardinals organization as well as Independent League baseball with the Bridgeport Bluefish and Long Island Ducks in the Atlantic League.

Rafters Announce Front Office Promotions

Wisconsin Rapids, WI – October 1st, 2013. With the fourth season of Rafters baseball in the books the team has announced changes in the front office. Liz Kern, who has served as the General Manger each of the Rafters first four seasons, has been named Vice President of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters and John Fanta, who has been Kern’s Assistant General Manager since the team’s inception, has been named General Manager. Both Kern and Fanta will continue to reside in Wisconsin Rapids.

Express add Borden to full-time staff

Eau Claire, Wis. – September 17, 2013 – The Eau Claire Express front office announced the hiring of Michael Borden to the full-time staff as the Director of Ticket Sales. Michael has spent the past two summers on the Express staff, first as a marketing intern before rejoining the team in January of this year on a part-time basis overseeing ticket sales and marketing.

Final Five Names Announced for new Kalamazoo Team

On September 23, 2013, Kalamazoo Baseball is unveiling the five finalists for the new team name on www.kzoobaseball.com. From September 23 – October 7, fans can vote online for their favorite name. All votes will be taken into consideration and the chosen team will be announced at the Opening Event at Homer Stryker Field scheduled for mid-November.

NWL Manager of the Year to return to Bucks in 2014

Waterloo, IA - The Waterloo Bucks, members of the Northwoods League, have announced that Field Manager Travis Kiewiet will be returning for his third season as the team's skipper. Kiewiet (pronounced KEE-wit) was named the NWL's 2013 Manager of the Year after leading the Bucks to the best record in the league at 51-19. Waterloo set a new NWL record for wins in a season, surpassing the Rochester Honkers' record of 50 which was set in 2006.
