The Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers of the Northwoods League announced today that right-handed pitcher Aaron Griffin and right-handed pitcher/infielder Bret Dahlson of Loyola Marymount University have signed contracts to play for the Lunkers this summer, according to general manager Dustin Anaas.

Andy Dirks Makes MLB Debut

Andy Dirks made his Major League debut last night, Monday, May 16th for the Detroit Tigers. The former Brainerd Blue Thunder standout went 1-for-2 in his debut and singled off Blue Jays starting pitcher, Kyle Drabek in the 3rd inning. Dirks started in left field for Tigers manager Jim Leyland after Magglio Ordonez was placed on the 15-day disabled list.
