Fond du Lac, WI – The pitching for Green Bay struggled from the start of the game in Fond du Lac as the Booyah fell 15-2 to the Dock Spiders on Thursday afternoon.
Green Bay started the game on a positive note as Joe Mason picked up an RBI on a double down the line and into left, scoring Nick Kreutzer from first. From that point on, the Booyah struggled all around.
On the mound, Zach Chappell was handed his second loss of the season after going two innings and allowing six earned runs. Chappell now sits with an 0-2 record on the season. In his first appearance out of the bullpen for Green Bay, Connor Spear was hit hard by Fond du Lac. Spear allowed eight runs in just an inning and a third, including a grand slam. Jacob Paulishak also made his first appearance of the season, going an inning and two-thirds, and allowing just one run. Jesse Philp picked up two scoreless frames with three strikeouts, and Jacob Buchberger went an inning and allowed just one hit.
At the plate, Buchberger went 2-4 on the day with an RBI for the Booyah. The only other RBI of the day came from Mason, who finished the day 1-2 at the dish.
Green Bay starts a two-game home stand tomorrow with Rockford. The Booyah play five out of the next six days at home, including a two-game set with Kalamazoo. First pitch against the Rivets is set for 7:05 p.m.
