Fond du Lac, WI – The Green Bay Booyah pitchers dominated on the road in Fond du Lac for the second consecutive day in a 2-0 win over the Dock Spiders.
The pitching for both sides dominated through the first seven innings of play, but Green Bay came out and struck for one run in the 8th inning. After Jarrett Ford grounded out to start the inning, Jacob Buchberger tripled off the right field wall for his first hit of the day. With Buchberger at third, Chris Williams lifted a ball into left field, giving Buchberger enough time to dash home to put Green Bay up 1-0.
The Booyah scored again in the ninth, this time off of a sacrifice fly from Ty Herrenbruck to bring in pinch runner Ali LaPread from third. At the plate, Williams led the way going 2-3 with two singles and an RBI. Nick Kreutzer also went 2-3, picking up a double and a walk.
On the mound, Jack Mahoney went 6.2 innings, gave up just one hit and earned a no decision on the day for the Booyah. Mahoney picked up four strikeouts and lowered his ERA to 1.85 on the year. Out of the bullpen, Victor Santana grabbed the win, going 1.2 innings and allowing a single hit. The win was the first for Santana this season. Will Saxton came in during the ninth inning and picked up his first save of the season, giving Green Bay their sixth straight win.
The Booyah now have three off days for the All-Star break, which is Tuesday in Waterloo. They return to action on Thursday night against Fond du Lac at home. It will be the last home game against the Dock Spiders this season.
