First baseman Pujols off to hot start in 2020
Ashwaubenon, Wis. – The Green Bay Booyah have announced the signings of corner infielder Marcos Pujols and left-handed pitcher Jonathan Brus. Both players are competing this spring at the University of Dayton in Ohio.
A 6’1” left-handed hitter, Marcos Pujols has started all 14 games in which he has appeared this spring at first base for the Flyers. In 49 at bats, the sophomore has compiled a .286 batting average to go along with a .390 on-base percentage while swatting two home runs and driving in six. He completed his freshman season by batting .242 with three home runs in 40 games. Pujols is a graduate of Florida Prep Academy and a native of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
Joining Pujols on the roster is his teammate Jonathan Brus. The 6’2” left-handed pitcher has appeared in four games so far this spring and has recorded all of his outs via the strikeout. The junior hurler appeared in four games on the mound last season and tossed 14.1 innings across 13 appearances as a freshman in 2018. He is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio.
