Green Bay flutters in seventh inning

by: Manny Rodriguez

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. The Green Bay Booyah fell at Capital Credit Union Park to the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Tuesday evening, 7-4.

After a 45-minute weather delay at the start of the night, the Booyah took a quick 1-0 lead after one. Kaden Hollow (Dixie State) picked up his 15th run batted in of the season as he drove in Dalton Pearson (Georgia State).

In the fifth, the Woodchucks were able to get two runs plated to take the lead and answered with another two in the sixth inning to make the advantage 4-1.

But in the bottom of the sixth, after Dayson Croes (Quincy) scored an unearned run, Johnny Hipsman’s double to right field scored Jake Berg (Jacksonville) and Tristin Garcia (Western Kentucky) to tie things at four. Hipsman was thrown out trying to extend the double into a triple to end the inning.

But the Woodchucks would put up three unearned runs in the seventh inning as the Booyah had two big errors on back-to-back plays to give Wisconsin the 7-4 lead. The Booyah left three men on base in the final two innings.

The Booyah continue this three-game home stand on Wednesday as they welcome the Madison Mallards to Ashwaubenon for the first time this season. The Mallards hold the season series lead, 2-1.
