Green Bay gets first win of season via walk-off

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. – The Green Bay Booyah earned a walk-off win over the Madison Mallards on Thursday at Capital Credit Union Park, 4-3.
The scoring started off in the bottom of the fourth when Max Wagner (Clemson) hit a solo home run to left field to give the Booyah a 1-0 lead.
In the sixth, the Mallards were able to even it up after an RBI double by Joe Hauser. They took the lead in the eighth inning when two runs came in via a pair of errors by the Booyah.
But in the bottom of the eighth, the Booyah were able to load the bases after stringing together three straight singles. After two men struck out, Jake Berg (Jacksonville) hit a two-run double to score Brendan Ryan (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) and Dalton Pearson (Georgia State) to tie things at three.
In the bottom of the ninth, after the first two men went down swinging, Nadir Lewis (Princeton) hit a solo home run over the wall in right field to give the Booyah their first walk-off win of the season.
Logan Lee (Northwood) pitched six innings and allowed an unearned run while striking out four. Joseph Hettinger (Washington University in St. Louis) picked up the win after a quick ninth inning.
The Booyah and the Mallards will finish their two-game series on Friday night at Capital Credit Union Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.
