Following win on Monday, Green Bay aims to get first win over Dock Spiders
Fond du Lac, Wis.- The Green Bay Rockers take on the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders for the third time this season on Wednesday as they look for their first win against Fond du Lac this season.The Rockers come into this game winners of their last one, as they took down the Madison Mallards on Monday 5-2 on the road, getting their second win of the season after losing their previous six games.
The Dock Spiders come in winners of their last two games and are tied with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters for first in the Great Lakes West Division.
In that win on Monday night over the Mallards, the Rockers took a 5-0 lead into the bottom of the ninth and held on, despite Madison having the tying run up at the plate with two outs.
Dylan Carter controlled the pace of the game on the mound, pitching eight innings while striking out five and only giving up three walks. Carter earned his first win of the season and has a 0.75 ERA as a result.
The Rockers took a 3-0 lead through five innings as RBIs from Tristin Garcia, Kyle Schroedle, Jonathan Pena, and Glenn Miller paved the way for the Rockers victory, their second on the road this season.
Green Bay will start Logan Berrier in what will be his fourth appearance for the Rockers this season. In three games pitched, Berrier has pitched 6.2 innings, giving up two runs on five hits, with three walks and five strikeouts. Berrier’s ERA currently sits at a 2.70 through the three games pitched.
The Dock Spiders will start Andrew Pogue as he’ll make his second appearance of the summer. Pogue also has faced the Rockers once already this season, pitching 4.1 innings and gave up two runs on two hits, while walking two and striking out two back on June 2.
The Rockers will take on the Dock Spiders on Thursday with the game being played at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. in what will conclude a three-game road trip for the Rockers.
