Green Bay starts five-game home stand with matchup against Kalamazoo
Ashwaubenon, Wis.- The Green Bay Rockers square off against the Kalamazoo Growlers for the first time in 2022 Friday night, with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. from Capital Credit Union Park.
The pregame concert performed by Got Wisco? will start at 5:35 p.m. with there being postgame fireworks presented by Pepsi following the conclusion of the ballgame.
Green Bay enters this game 1-1 in second half play, following a split with the Madison Mallards and an 11-9-win Thursday night on the road at Madison at Warner Park.
In Thursday night’s win, the Rockers were led by Owen Jackson’s 3-5 night, including a game winning two-RBI double from Jackson, giving the Rockers the 11-9 in the top of the ninth.
Rashad Ruff earned the win on the mound, after retiring the Mallards in order in the bottom of the ninth, completing a game that saw 20 combined runs on 21 combined hits.
As for Friday’s pitching matchup with Kalamazoo, Green Bay will start Caden Capomaccio on the mound, as he comes in with three innings pitched in one game back on July 2.
This will be the first career start for Capomaccio with that appearance on July 2 being out of the bullpen, and in three innings pitched, he’s given up no runs on two hits, with one walk and three strikeouts.
Kalamazoo will start Tanner Knapp who enters this game with a 1-1 record and a 6.16 ERA after last pitching Monday against Wausau in a 7-2 loss.
The Rockers and Growlers will face off against each other for the second time in as many days Saturday as the Rockers will play the second of the five-game home stand at Capital Credit Union Park following Friday night’s contest. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
