Ashwaubenon, Wis. – The Green Bay Rockers got a big win Sunday afternoon against the Chinooks, 12-9.

Green Bay took a 1-0 lead in the first when Tristin Garcia singled home Justin Simpson after he tripled to lead off the frame.

Green Bay scored four times in the second inning. JP Gauthier singled home Luke Ballweg, and Tristin Garcia capped it off by hitting a three-run home run to right.

The Rockers added three in the third on an RBI single by Carson Yates and bases loaded walks drawn by Gauthier and Simpson.

At that point, the score was 8-0. Then in the fourth, the Chinooks scored five runs on four hits to cut the score to 8-5.

In the sixth, Nathan Aide hit his first home run of the year for Lakeshore, a three-run shot to right which tied the game at eight.

Green Bay recaptured the lead in the bottom of the sixth when Danny Wuestenfeld doubled home Griffin Stevens.

They added on in the eighth when Keniel de Leon hit a three-run shot to right, his sixth of the season to make it 12-8.

Things got interesting in the ninth, but the Rockers held on after the Chinooks scored one to win it 12-9.

Green Bay heads to Fond du Lac Monday night to play the Dock Spiders at Herr-Baker Field. First pitch will be at 6:35 p.m.
