Green Bay aims for series sweep following Thursday’s come-from-behind win
Ashwaubenon, Wis.- For the second time in as many days, the Green Bay Rockers square off against the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders at Capital Credit Union Park, with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. on Friday.
The pregame concert performed by Fire on High Unplugged will start at 5:35 p.m. with their also being postgame fireworks presented by Pepsi following the conclusion of this game.
Green Bay will look for the series sweep after taking down the Dock Spiders Thursday night at home in what was a come-from-behind win for the Rockers.
After the Dock Spiders led 4-0 through the first four innings, Green Bay proceeded to score the next six runs, including two runs in the bottom of the eighth with a wild pitch and an RBI single from Danny Wuestenfeld being how those runs came across.
Luke Ballweg led the way in RBIs with two while Tristin Garcia and Keniel De Leon each added an RBI themselves to lead the way for the Rockers offense.
In his first appearance, Marcus Jaworski pitched five shutout innings out of the bullpen, giving up just two hits with two strikeouts as well and earning the win as a result.
As for Friday’s game, Jaxon Meyer will get the start for Green Bay as he comes in with a 3.86 ERA and a 0-0 record.
Meyer last pitched Wednesday against Lakeshore with 1.1 innings pitched and gave up no runs on two hits in all. Meyer has made five appearances so far this season with seven innings pitched in all with five strikeouts and three runs given up on eight hits.
The Dock Spiders will start Joshua Culliver who enters this game with a 1-1 record and a 7.30 ERA with his latest appearance coming on July 24 against Wausau in a 12-4 loss to the Woodchucks.
Following this matchup, Green Bay will head on the road to take on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters at Witter Field Saturday. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
