Green Bay looks for fifth straight win with showdown against Wausau
Ashwaubenon, Wis.- The Green Bay Rockers take on the Wausau Woodchucks in the third of a five-game home stand for the Rockers Wednesday, with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. at Capital Credit Union Park.
The pregame concert performed by Panic Station will start at 5:35 p.m. with it also being Woof Wednesday at the ballpark. Woof Wednesday is presented by Vital Essentials.
In the last game for Green Bay, the Rockers took down the Madison Mallards 5-0 Tuesday night, behind a stellar pitching performance from starting pitcher Will Semb.
The Green Bay native Semb pitched 8.2 innings while giving up no runs on seven hits with one walk and seven strikeouts, increasing his strikeout total to 65 on the season.
Offensively for the Rockers, they were led by home runs from J.P Gauthier and Luke Ballweg as each player now has multiple home runs on the season.
Jake Mastillo added two RBIs himself, with a two-RBI double bringing home two more runs and capping off a home sweep for the Rockers over the Mallards.
As the Rockers look for their fifth straight win, they will turn the ball to Kyle Jungers on the mound, who enters after making one appearance on the season and has a 0-1 record and a 7.20 ERA.
Jungers’s appearance came on August 3 against Traverse City, as he gave up four runs on one hit, with 12 strikeouts in just five innings of work.
The Woodchucks will start Jace Baumann who has yet to record a decision so far in 2022 as he enters the game with a 5.76 ERA.
The Rockers and Woodchucks will face off Thursday to conclude the season series between the two teams at Capital Credit Union Park following Wednesday’s matchup. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
