Green Bay aiming to win their third straight game to cap off road trip.
Madison, WI. – The Rockers are set to play their final game of the four-game road trip Friday night. The team is currently riding a two-game win streak after wins against Kokomo and Madison. First pitch against the Mallards on Friday night is set for 6:35 p.m.
Green Bay and Madison have faced off a total of seven times so far this season. The Rockers are currently on a three-game win streak when playing at Warner Park.
In Thursday night’s game, the Rockers won the first of a two-game series against the Mallards 3-2 in extra innings. Green Bay’s starting pitcher Kyle Stoddard (Missouri Southern State) threw six hitless innings on the mound while striking out six batters. In the tenth inning, third baseman Austin Fawley (Kentucky) broke the 2-2 tie with an RBI double to score Cuyler Zukowski (Creighton).
With the win, Green Bay is 7-10 in the second half of play and is just three games out of first place. The team’s overall record remains above .500 at 28-25.
On the hill for the Rockers in Friday night’s contest is Maddox Long (Harding). The right-handed pitcher will be making his fourth start of the year after his best outing in his last appearance. Long kept the Wausau Woodchucks hitless through 3.2 innings and struck out four batters across the 5.2 innings he pitched in.
Pitching for the Mallards will be Andrew Guardino (Tennessee Tech). He hasn’t allowed an earned run through 7.2 innings on the mound this season.
Rocker outfielder Kendal Ewell (Kentucky) remains to be the consistent bat at the top of Green Bay’s order. He has six multi-hit performances over his last nine games and has totaled 10 RBIs in this stretch.
After Friday night’s contest, the band will return home for the first time in six days. They are set to play a two-game series with the Battle Creek Battle Jacks on Saturday and Sunday. First pitch for Saturday’s game will be at 6:35 p.m.
