Green Bay will take on the Dock Spiders in the second away game of the year.
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. – After defeating the Mallards at home last night 5-3, Green Bay will travel to Fond du Lac to continue their winning ways in Herr Baker Field. Game time is set for 6:35 p.m.
Last night, the Rockers took on the Madison Mallards. The game started quickly, with six runs scored in the first 2 innings. Despite Madison leading 2-0 at the middle of the first, catcher Luke Moeller (Yavapai CC) hit an RBI single to center field with the bases loaded to score Green Bay’s first run of the game. The masked man didn’t stop there, as he hit another single in the bottom of the second to drive in another run, putting the Rockers ahead 4-2 heading to the third.
Madison put pressure on early in the ninth with a triple from Caleb Karll (Ohio University) who was later brought home to score by third baseman Jake Munroe (John A. Logan CC). But Rockers closer Tysen Benford (Georgia State) managed to hold off the Mallards and pick up his first save of the year and secure the win for Green Bay.
Tonight, Mack Crowley (Minnesota State-Mankato) will get the start for the Rockers. In his last outing, Crowley struck out two batters and gave up five runs in his start against the Woodchucks. He will look to bounce back in another road contest in Fond Du Lac. Fans unable to attend the game can tune in to the Northwoods League Sports Network to stream the game at 6:35.
The next home contest at Capital Credit Union Park will be Sunday, June 2nd. Gates open at noon for the live pregame concert featuring Acoustic Endorphins and the first pitch is slated for 1:05. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a 2023 Championship Rhodie bobblehead and the team is also offering post-game catch on the field, with the team giving out Rockers logoed baseball for fans to use curtesy of Capital Credit Union.
