Green Bay’s game was postponed in the top of the 5th inning and will be finished tomorrow
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. – Tonight’s game between the Green Bay Rockers (14-10) and the Madison Mallards (18-8) was postponed due to inclement weather during the top of the fifth inning. It will be completed in Madison tomorrow, resuming where the game left off with one out in the top of the 5th inning. First pitch is scheduled for 3:35 p.m.
In the action before it was paused, the Rockers took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Sam Miller (Columbia) hit an RBI double to open the scoring. He came in later that inning on a Lane Allen (Blinn CC) single. The Mallards fought back and took the lead in the third, 3-2, but that did not last very long. In the next frame, Nick Harms (Case Western Reserve) hit his eighth home run of the year to put the Rockers back in the driver’s seat 4-3. After a scoreless fourth inning, the game was called with one out in the top of the fifth.
Tomorrow, the game will resume at that same spot, with a runner on first and one out in the top of the fifth. First pitch for that game is scheduled for 3:35 p.m. in Madison and will be played through nine innings to completion. The originally scheduled game for tomorrow is still slated to begin at 6:35 p.m. but will be a seven-inning game.
Nicholas Graham (Faulkner) will make his first start of the season for Green Bay for the second game tomorrow. He’s only thrown 0.1 of an inning this season, but only gave up one run on no hits.
