Green Bay Rockers (36-27) vs. Wausau Woodchucks (41-19)

Adison Tevz (2-1), 7.20 ERA

Skyler Sievert (1-0), 1.80 ERA

Woodchucks vs. Rockers

The Green Bay Rockers and Wausau Woodchucks both moved closer to a playoff berth over the weekend after Wausau swept Lakeshore. The two teams now open a pivotal two-game series at Capital Credit Union Park, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Monday.

Green Bay enters the matchup after going 3-1 on its Michigan road trip and has won seven of its last eight games. The Rockers are playing their best baseball of the summer but remain 2.5 games behind first-place Lakeshore in the Great Lakes West standings.

While Green Bay will need help from Traverse City, which begins a two-game series against Lakeshore, the Rockers’ primary focus is taking care of business against Wausau. Every game is critical as the regular season winds down.

The Rockers will send right-hander Skylar Sievert to the mound. In his lone appearance this season, Sievert turned in a quality start against Madison, allowing one run on three hits while earning the win. He will face a Woodchucks lineup that ranks among the Northwoods League’s top offensive clubs.

Offensively, Green Bay will look to continue its recent production behind Jeremy Delamota, Coleman Lewis and Landon Schaefer. The trio has played a key role in the Rockers’ recent success and is back in the starting lineup as Green Bay looks to strengthen its postseason position.
