MADISON, Wi. – The Madison Mallards scored eight unanswered runs including three in the bottom of the ninth for a come from behind win on Monday against the Kalamazoo Growlers in 11 innings to win 8-7.

Jesse Forestell delivered the walk-off hit in the bottom of the 11^th inning to win the game for the Mallards scoring Nick Gile from second.

Kalamazoo started quickly with two runs in the first inning on an error by David Vinsky to score Ivan Johnson. Jason Sullivan made the score 2-0 when he scored on a Zach Daniels sac fly.

The Growlers added two more runs in the third inning on an RBI double from Niko Kavadas and a Daniels single.

It was the fifth inning that seemed to open things up for the Growlers scoring three runs in the frame to make the score 7-0. Dylan Shockley delivered the big hit with a 2-RBI single to center field.

But the bottom of the fifth turned the tide for the Mallards where the scored 4 runs on three walks, a hit-by-pitch and two hits.

The Growlers held the lead, thanks to 3.1 innings of scoreless innings on the mound from Luke Boyd, until the ninth inning.

The inning began for the Mallards with two walks and a two straight balls to a third batter from Jarret Smetana on the mound. Brennan Cox came in and got two outs but allowed two walks and two hits for the Mallards to tie the game.

After a scoreless tenth from both teams, the Growlers could not capitalize with runners on first and third in the 11^th. The home half of the 11^th made way for the Mallards and Forestell to walk off for the second time this week.

The Growlers will have a day off for the MLB Dreams Showcase on Tuesday before returning to action again on Wednesday against the Mallards.
