LA CROSSE, WI- The La Crosse Loggers fell to the North Division Willmar Stingers 6-1 in Copeland Park tonight. For the first 6 innings, the game was an exciting pitching duel. Zach Lewis, the La Crosse starter, gave up only 3 hits and no runs in his first 5 innings. Will Lydon was even more impressive for Willmar. After giving up a run in the first inning on a Grant Fennell (Nevada) double that brought in Mason McCoy (Illinois Central), Will went the distance to get the win.

McCoy started out hot, singling in both of his first two at-bats. The rest of the Logger lineup did not fare as well though. The Loggers only mustered out 5 hits on Lydon and left 3 runners on base.

The Loggers fell apart in the seventh inning and never recovered. Michael Echavia (Chabot) and Matt Naylor (North Florida) came to pitch in relief. Echavia pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up 2 hits which stopped the Willmar outbreak.

The Loggers and Stingers battle it out again tomorrow night, game time is at 7:05 once again at Copeland Park.
