McCoy, Zimmerman, Provencher to play in All-Star Game

La Crosse, Wis. – Three La Crosse Loggers were voted into the 2015 Northwoods League All-Star Game on Monday, July 13th.

Mason McCoy (Iowa), shortstop, leads the league in batting average, hits, total bases, runs, at-bats and games played. He has already set the Loggers single-season record for hits (83) and total bases (124). Mason adds another impressive feat to his outstanding season with the All-Star appearance.

Jordan Zimmerman (Michigan State), second base, has seemed to have playing in McCoy’s shadow but has had a great season himself. He has played in 48 of 50 games this season, batting .277 with 52 hits. His 42 runs is good for 2nd best in the league and he is tied with McCoy for 3rd in the league in RBI’s with 34.

Ty Provencher (Long Beach State), pitcher, has been nearly unstoppable in his 14 games he has appeared in. In 16.1 innings, Ty has only given up five runs and has struck out 12 batters.. He has thrown 13 scoreless innings, leading to 10 saves which is 2nd best in the league.

The All-Star Game is on Tueday, July 21st in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Festivities include a banquet on Monday. On Tuesday, gates open at Witter Field at 4:05 where the players will be available for autographs. The home run challenge is at 5:05 before the All-Star game at 7:05.
