Day two of the 2014 MLB Draft saw four more former Loggers get their name called by professional baseball organizations.

A member of the 2011 Logger club, Louie Lechich from the University of San Diego was taken 168th overall in the 6th Round by the Chicago White Sox.  Lechich was a two-way standout for both the Loggers and at USD, but the southsiders drafted the left-handed hitter as an outfielder.

Switch-hitting middle infielder Steve Wilkerson (Clemson), also a member of the 2011 Loggers, heard his name called in the eighth round by the Baltimore Orioles when the selected him with the 241st overall pick.

Just one round later, Michael Katz (William and Mary) was selected by the New York Mets in the ninth round.  Katz led the entire Northwoods League with 19 home runs last summer and was recently named a Louisville Slugger All-American this past spring.

And right-handed pitcher Scott Schultz from Oregon State was taken 300th overall in the tenth round by the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Schultz pitched for the 2012 NWL Champion Logger team.
