Loggers' outfielder one of six selected to participate in NWL Home Run Challenge
Rochester, Minn. – The Northwoods League announced yesterday the list of participants in the 2016 Northwoods League Home Run Challenge in Kenosha during the All-Star Break. One of the three representatives of the North Division is La Crosse's own, Griffin Conine.
Griffin Conine (Duke) has been putting up monster numbers behind the plate this season. He is batting .277 with 30 hits and 32 games, bringing in 21 runs. Griffin was selected to the challenge because of his batting power. Conine was belted out 6 home runs, including one in three straight games (July 3-5). His home run on June 3rd against Mankato was hit so far into right field that it landed on Copeland Avenue on the fly.
The Home Run Challenge will be played on Monday, July 18, at the Harbor at 6:30 pm.
