LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford Rivets have opened the second half of the Northwoods League season with a three-game winning streak after a 4-1 win over the Lakeshore Chinooks on Friday at Rivets Stadium.

 

Harlem High School alumnus Drake Robison held the Chinooks to a run on five hits over 7 1/3 innings to earn the win. Robison (4-2), who worked with the lead from the first inning on, struck out five and walked two. Jacob Ruder closed with 1 2/3 hitless innings for his first save.

 

Chinooks starter Keenan Bartlett (1-2) struck out 12 and four-hit the Rivets, but took a complete-game loss.  

 

The Rivets manufactured a first-inning run when Michael Smith singled, stole second base, and came around on groundouts by Cory Wright and David Cronin. They added three runs in the fourth, two on a home run by Ryan Long.

 

The Rivets face the Lakeshore Chinooks at Rivets Stadium 6:35 p.m. Saturday for Bobblehead Night, Star Wars Night and Fireworks Night. Broadcasts and live streams can be found at NorthwoodsLeague.com.
