Rockford, IL. – The Northwoods League announced the game schedule for the 2019 season. The Rockford Rivets begin their 4th season of play in the league at home on Tuesday, May 28 to begin a two-game set with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.

The league will again play a 72-game schedule in 76 days, giving players the ultimate Minor League experience. The League has expanded in 2019 to 22 teams, with new additions being in Kokomo, Ind. and Traverse City, Mich. As part of the 2019 expansion and realignment, the Northwoods League is adopting new divisional names: Great Plains and Great Lakes. The names serve as an homage to the growth the League has experienced over its 25-year history, as well as its vast geographic presence, stretching from the Great Plains at its western-most edge, throughout the Great Lakes region to the East. The Rivets will play in the Great Lakes East along with the Battle Creek Bombers, Kalamazoo Growlers, Kenosha Kingfish, Kokomo Jackrabbits, and Traverse City Baseball. The remainder of the Division and Sub-Division breakout is as follows:

Great Plains West: Bismarck Larks, Mankato MoonDogs, Rochester Honkers, St. Cloud Rox, and Willmar Stingers
Great Plains East: Duluth Huskies, Eau Claire Express, La Crosse Loggers, Thunder Bay Border Cats, and Waterloo Bucks
Great Lakes West: Fond du Lac Dock Spider, Green Bay Booyah, Lakeshore Chinooks, Madison Mallards, Wisconsin Woodchucks, and Wisconsin Rapids Rafters

The league will again have two scouting events. The annual All-Star Game will take place on Tuesday, July 16 in Waterloo, Iowa. The seventh annual Big League Dreams Showcase doubleheader will be held at Warner Park in Madison three weeks later. Both events showcase the top prospects in the Northwoods League annually to scouts from every team in Major League Baseball.

Rivets group and season ticket packages are now on-sale. If you are interested in bringing a group out or purchasing a ticket package please call the Rivets ticket office at 815-240-4159. Single-game tickets for all Rivets home games will go on-sale later this spring.
