The Rockford Rivets congratulate four players for being named to the 2022 Northwoods League All-Star Game. The league announced its rosters for both the Great Lakes and Great Plains on Friday. The Rivets listed included position players Matthew Mebane and Ty Crittenberger, alongside pitchers Kyle Seebach and Ty Rybarczyk.

Starting on the mound, Rybarczyk has been lights out for the Rivets all season long. The senior right hander from the University of Illinois is 5-1 through 6 starts and 37.2 innings. His 1.43 ERA is 2nd lowest in the Northwoods League among qualifiers. Rybarczyk has yet to allow more than 3 runs in an outing this season, and has not allowed an earned run in 4 of his 6 starts.

Seebach has complimented Rybarczyk nicely as a one-two punch atop the Rockford rotation. The senior southpaw from Northern Illinois bolsters a 2.62 ERA – 7th lowest in the league. His 40 strikeouts are the 3rd highest total in the league. Seebach has allowed only a single earned run or less in 4 of his 6 starts this season, totalling 34.1 innings pitched.

Moving to position players, Crittenberger has done a little bit of everything atop the Rivets lineup. The Western Kentucky outfielder has maintained a .300 batting average through 35 games this season. Crittenberger bolsters plenty of pop as well – his 3 home runs and 24 RBI are both the second on the team. However, the redshirt sophomore’s most noteworthy accomplishment might be on the basepaths, where he sits second in the league with 24 stolen bases. Crittenberger has also shown tremendous range in center field with the Rivets through 34 games, committing only 1 error.

Lastly, Mebane has been a focal point for the Rivets all season long. He led the Northwoods League in RBI through the first half of the season with a whopping 37. The South Georgia State College freshman also has 6 home runs, the 3rd highest total through the midwest this summer. Mebane has made himself versatile in the field as well, playing on both corners in the infield and outfield.

The 2022 Northwoods League All-Star Game will take place on Tuesday, July 19 from Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT.
