The Rockford Rivets played the Kenosha Kingfish during last night’s game with a final score of 5-3.
The Rivets were down by one run in the bottom of the second inning but rallied to tie the score. Connor Allen hit a double to center field bringing home Matthew Mebane for a score of 1-1 at the end of the second inning. The Kingfish scored another run at the top of the third and the Rivets fed off of this and scored two more runs. Nick Demarco hit a two-run home run to get the lead with a score of 3-2.
The Kingfish tied the game at the top of the fifth inning and the Rivets were not able to score in the bottom. The Rivets came back for the lead however being able to score off of a wild pitch before the third out. They scored one more run in the bottom of the eighth inning with a final score of 5-3, Rivets win.
The Rivets will be playing again tonight against the Kalamazoo Growlers at Homer Stryker Field at 6:35 PM ET.
