Rockford, IL – [8/11/2023] – The Rockford Rivets faced a challenging test in the opening game of their final series against the Traverse City Pit Spitters. Despite their efforts, the Rivets fell short in a 2-4 loss that showcased both teams’ determination and resilience.

The Rivets began the game strong, taking an early lead with Bryce Vincent’s well-executed sacrifice fly, bringing David Bishop home. Conner Allen’s subsequent double to left field allowed Wyatt Morgan to score, further solidifying the Rivets’ advantage at 2-0.

However, the Traverse City Pit Spitters showcased their own offensive prowess, responding with runs in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th innings. Their consistent performance enabled them to secure a 4-2 lead.

The Rockford Rivets fought valiantly throughout the game, but the Pit Spitters’ solid performance ultimately secured their victory.
