Rockford, IL – The Rockford Rivets celebrated a spectacular start to their season with a decisive 10-0 victory against the Battle Creek Battle Jacks in their home opener at Rivets Stadium. The Rivets displayed exceptional performance both offensively and defensively, leaving the Battle Jacks scoreless throughout the game. #12 Cain Headrick played a significant role in the team’s success, contributing both on the mound and at the plate. The Rivets set the tone early with #24 Cade Zalewski scoring the first run. Their defense was impenetrable, with #2 Scott Newman and Headrick making crucial putouts. Headrick’s pitching dominance continued as he struck out several players, supported by a solid infield. Offensively, #9 Jack Zebig showed patience with a walk, while #3 Logan Mock and #7 Brayden Bakes also made significant contributions. A key moment was Mock’s Fielder’s Choice in the third inning, bringing home Zalewski for an unearned run. The game concluded with another stellar play by Headrick, who struck out the final batter, sealing the Rivets’ 10-0 triumph.
