The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League, is proud to announce the signing of two players for the 2009 season. Junior pitcher Ryan Demmin of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (Oshkosh, WI), and sophomore pitcher Jimmy Patterson of Central Arizona College (Coolidge, AZ) have signed on to play for the MoonDogs.

Los Angeles Angels right-handed pitcher Fernando Rodriguez made his Major League debut Saturday afternoon in an 8-4 win against the New York Yankees at the new Yankee Stadium. The former Duluth Huskie struggled in his first outing allowing three runs, two earned, in two-thirds of an inning.

The Thunder Bay Border Cats announced the signing of three players from the University of New Mexico.

Bryce Shafer, a right-handed pitcher at Valparaiso University, has signed on to play for the Wisconsin Woodchucks this summer. Shafer carries a 6-3 record for the Crusaders (23-20).

Bobby Pritchett, a mid-season and postseason Northwoods League All-Star last season, will return to Wausau and play for the Wisconsin Woodchucks this summer. Pritchett is in his junior year at the University of Central Arkansas.

Eau Claire Express field manager Dale Varsho announced the addition of three more players to his 2009 roster. The addition of sophomore Gera Sanchez and juniors Nick Greenwood and Robbie Knight brings the Express roster to 21.
