Eau Claire, Wis. – With the tenth season of Express baseball less than two months away, the team today announced its promotional schedule highlights for the 2014 season. Fireworks Fridays will return this year along with mini bobblehead and trading card giveaways. The new items on the promotional schedule are highlighted by an appearance by Mountain Man from A&E’s TV show “Duck Dynasty”.
Back by popular demand will be some fan favorite promotions from previous years. Every Friday night in 2014 will feature a postgame fireworks show, as was the case in 2013. This year’s schedule features five Friday home games. Four mini bobblehead giveaways will return as well. Featured this year will be a commemorative bobblehead of Express Field Manager Dale Varsho for his NWL record 301st win in 2013. Other bobbleheads will include outfielder Steve McGuiggan from the 2010 NWL Championship team, Trax and Joe Torre for “Turn Back the Clock Night”. There will again be a trading card giveaway, however this year’s set will include 30 cards on one date rather than the three sets of 10 given away in past seasons. The trading card set will highlight the 2014 roster. Also returning in 2014 is the pre-planned funeral giveaway sponsored by Evergreen Funeral Home.
In addition to the popular promotions returning from last year, the Express has added a significant amount of new events to the 2014 schedule. New promotions are highlighted by an appearance by Mountain Man from “Duck Dynasty” on July 16. Mountain Man will sign autographs, take photos with fans and be a guest public address announcer. Making their first appearance at Carson Park will be BirdZerk Entertainment. BirdZerk has been a popular promotional night across Minor League Baseball and the Northwoods League in past seasons. Ladies Night that has taken place the past few years will be transformed to a Wine, Women and Baseball Night. Prior to the game there will be wine tasting on the Fan Deck and fans will have the ability to sign up to win a wedding package featuring several components to a wedding. New giveaway items that have been added to the schedule include youth baseball gloves, Express adjustable hats, Express t-shirts, youth replica Express jerseys and a school supplies set.
Dates and sponsors of all secured promotions are listed below. Dates are subject to change and will be updated on the Home Game Promotions page of the Express website.
