Eau Claire, Wis. – With the Northwoods League season only five days away, the Eau Claire Express today announced the winning name for the team’s new mascot as a result of a fan vote held online. Hundreds of Express fans have voted in the past seven days and the favorite amongst the Eau Claire faithful in a close vote was Trix. As the Express kick off their 10th season of Northwoods League play, Trix will have a large part in starting off the celebratory season.

The winning name submission was made by Mike Sullivan. As a result, Mike will be the recipient of one season ticket for the 2014 Express season.

“On behalf of the Express, I would like to congratulate Mike Sullivan on submitting the winning name for our new mascot,” Express General Manager Andy Neborak stated. “We look forward to having Trix play a large role in our entertainment at games and events across the Chippewa Valley.”

While Trix’s design is not announced, the Express has revealed that she will have similar design characteristics to their first mascot, Trax. Trix is sure to fit into many of the team’s promotions and add to the entertainment for Express fans at Carson Park.

The Express begin their 10th season of play in the Northwoods League on Tuesday, May 27 versus the Lakeshore Chinooks. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM with gates opening at 5:30.
