After scoring four runs in the first two innings, the Eau Claire Express offense shut down for the next seven innings in an 8-4 loss to the host Waterloo Bucks.
The Express got things started with a bang, scoring three times in the first inning. Brady Burzynski scored on a Drew Turbin double, Turbin later scored on a bases-loaded walk from Lane Milligan and Tyler Hermann scored on a wild pitch.
In the second, Burzynski scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Turbin again to make it 4-1 Express.
But after that, the Express didn't score any more runs while Waterloo chipped in seven runs from the fifth through eighth innings to secure the win.
Ian Doughty took the loss on the mound for Eau Claire.
The Express and Bucks will be back at it tomorrow night starting at 6:35 p.m. in Waterloo.
