Despite a little clearance right around first pitch, Mother Nature ultimately got her way Monday night, just in time to suspend the Eau Claire Express and Alexandria Blue Anchors in the bottom of the third inning at Carson Park.

Because it is Alexandria's last visit to Eau Claire in 2014, the game will be made up tomorrow in Alexandria, as the two teams play there instead of Carson Park. The game will continue with the Express being the home team and will resume action in the bottom of the third with Brian Mundell at the plate. The first pitch of this suspended game will be at 5:05 p.m. at Knute Nelson Field in Alexandria. A seven-inning game will follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended game with the Blue Anchors being the regularly scheduled home team.

A ticket stub from Monday's game will serve as a voucher for any upcoming game this season.

The Express were up 4-0 when the rain made the conditions too tough to continue. The Express got three in the bottom of the first when Daniel Salters singled to score Mike Porcaro and Mike Barajas doubled to score Salters and Brian Mundell.

Eau Claire picked up another run in the bottom of the second when Porcaro knocked in Peter Van Gansen on an opposite-field single.

Ian Doughty had given up no hits in three innings on the mound.
