Roach pitches 6 scoreless but Eau Claire bats go silent
The Eau Claire Express didn’t manufacture a single run Friday night in the first of a two game series with the Duluth Huskies as they were defeated 1-0 at Wade Stadium.
Dalton Roach started for the Express and pitched well, tossing 6 scoreless innings striking out 5 and only allowing 2 hits. Teddy Cillis entered in relief of Roach in the 7th inning and gave up the winning run after a walk and two singles.
Third baseman Brett Blackwood led the way for the Express going 2-4 as Eau Claire spread out 7 total hits.
The Express fall to 4-7 on the season as they shoot for a more eventful night tomorrow when they take on Duluth in game 2. Brody Rodning will take the mound for the Express as he makes his second start of the season..
