Box Score game one – Box Score game two

By playing 12 innings the Eau Claire Express earned one win and one loss today to the Lakeshore Chinooks. They wrapped up their game from Monday, July 13 that was suspended in the sixth inning due to rain before their regularly scheduled game at Kapco Park.

When play resumed the Express were already down 3-0 and couldn’t fight back as they ended up falling 7-0 in the first game. With hits in all three innings played today the Express offense missed any opportunity to snag a win by stranding them all on base.

Erich Uelmen is credited with the loss in 4.1 innings pitched allowing five hits and two runs.

Brady Burzynski and Daulton Varsho each had two hit games as the Express left 10 men on base.

The second game was a different story as the Express exploded for 10 runs in a 10-4 victory.

A seven run third inning was the key to victory for the Express that was highlighted by a three-run double from designated hitter Michael Papierski.

Burzynski had three hits in game two with a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Daniel Jipping got the start at first base and added two RBI on the afternoon as well.

Michael Gomez got the start for the Express and was rock solid until the fourth inning when he gave up all of Lakeshore’s runs. He finished with four runs on six hits and four walks in 3.2 innings pitched.

Teddy Cillis earned the win with one hit allowed in 1.1 innings pitched in relief.

The Express now have three days off as they have hit the Northwoods League All-Star Break. They return to action on Thursday as they take on the Rochester Honkers for a two-game series to start a six-game road trip
