Eau Claire, Wis. – Eau Claire Express field manager Dale Varsho announced his two most recent roster signings today, adding sophomore Daniel Herrera and freshman Rudy Rott to the 2016 roster. Herrera is a catcher at New Mexico Junior College and Rott is a first baseman at Ohio University. The two newcomers bring Eau Claire’s roster to seven.

Herrera is off to a hot start with the Thunderbirds, leading the team with a .536 on-base percentage and four triples and ranking third on the squad with three home runs and 16 RBI’s. He concluded his freshman season with a .343 batting average and .429 on-base percentage. The Albuquerque, N.M. native will enroll at the University of New Mexico in the fall of 2016 and play for the Lobos for his junior season.

Rott is early in his college career, appearing in all six games thus far in his freshman season. He has a .412 batting average, ranking third on the team, and six RBI’s which are tied for the team lead. The Holmen, Wis. native can also play catcher, which will give Dale Varsho’s roster some flexibility this summer. Rott missed only one of 115 games for Aquinas High School in his four-year career and helped them to a .678 winning percentage during that time.
