MLBPipeline.com's Prospect Team of the Week honors the best performances in the Minor Leagues from the previous seven days.

The latest addition of Prospect Team of the Week, for the week of August 21-27 includes two former Eau Claire Express players. Daulton Varsho of the Hillsboro Hops (Arizona Diamondbacks Class A Short Season Affiliate) played two seasons with the Express in 2015 and 2016. The second Exporess alumni recognized was Casey Gillaspie of the Charlotte Knights (Chicago White Sox Triple-A Affiliate) who played in Eau Claire for the 2012 season.

Gary's son was taken in the Competitive Balance Round B of this year's Draft, and he is off to a very good start to his pro career. Varsho has a six-game hitting streak going and started this past week off with a pair of three-hit performances, the first of which was a two-homer game for the catcher. He leads the Northwest League in OPS (.913) and is fourth in batting average (.320).

Gillaspie had solid bookends to his week, homering in two of his first three games, then going 5-for-9 to close out the weekend. It helped him improve his August line to .241/.330/.456 with four homers and 15 RBIs in 22 games since joining the White Sox organization via the Dan Jennings trade.
